So I’m minding my own business, looking through some Groupon goods, and I come across a straightener. Awesome! I’ve been needing one. I scroll down to check out the features. Turns out I’m not part of their target demographic:
After an inside joke at work using Oreos as an analogy, I decided to explain everything using Oreos as an analogy. A friend challenged me to describe what is going on at Penn State using Oreos. Here is what I came up with:
A long time ago, a very bad man stole an oreo. One guy witnessed it, and only a few people knew about it. So they decided the best plan would be to just dunk that stolen oreo into a glass of milk, and leave it there for a while. They hid the glass of milk, too. But when oreos are in milk for too long, eventually the…y fall apart. One of the guys who knew about the stolen oreo, doesn’t even eat cookies. Now no one cares about the man who stole the oreo, or even the oreos themselves. With the help of the Nabisco Cookie Activists Association, the main concern for the media will now be whether or not Penn State will ever be able to recover from such a terrible sugar crash.
I first bought this pair of flip flops when I was in 7th grade (2002) to take on my annual family vacation to Cape Cod, Mass. Since then, these flip flops have literally traveled the world, on countless vacations, first days of college, study abroad, and trips around the busy cities of the US. I have been amazed at how they have stood the test of time. Every year when I break them out for the obligatory first wear of the summer, my family jokes that its”those flip flops again!”and”when are those going to finally BREAK!?”
I hope they never do.
This one pair of flip flops has provided me with memories for over 10 years, and I will hate to finally have to part with them. I have never had another pair like these shoes that have lasted so long. Not only am I grateful for the fact that my feet never grew past size 7 1/2, but also that I bought these that day long ago.
Please, please read and share this article. It nails how I feel about the mainstream media, especially the mainstream sports media, on the head.
I haven’t said much on the whole situation..Of course I have my own opinions, but frankly I’m so tired of hearing everyone else’s. This article really nails it. It’s the only one I will post on the matter, but I believe it really needs to be shared.
P.S. I’ll be at the game on Saturday, cheering on my team.
